Captain Traub graduated from Brown University 1959 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. He went on to serve his nation in the United States Air Force. He graduated from Air Force Pilot Training in 1960, graduating first in his class. Before retiring from the Air Force, he required over 10,000 hours military flying.

Captain Traub joined United Airlines 1964 as a pilot and flight instructor. He=s licensed to fly the DC-6, DC-7, DC-8, B-727,B- 737 and the B-747. He=s also a qualified Flight Engineer on the DC-6, DC-7, DC-8, B-727 and the B-747.

Captain Traub is a trailblazer, earning the first United Airlines license to fly the Boeing 747. Captain Traub served as Vice President Flight Standards and Training for United Airlines from 1986-1997. Under his leadership he initiated a number of industry leading safety programs including the first Asingle-visit training@, wind-shear training and advanced maneuvers training. Captain Traub was also directly responsible for all flight officer hiring for 15 years and also initiated the industry=s first Flight Officer Intern Program, partnering United Airlines with over 20 College and University flight programs.
